Terms of Service

Last updated October 3, 2026 · The Spanish version is the legally binding one.

These terms govern the use of genpm.net, the registry API (api.genpm.net), the genpm CLI and the @genpm/mcp server (together, "GenPM"), provided by Yohangel Ram os (full details in the Legal Notice). By creating an account or publishing a package you accept them. Searching and installing packages needs no account. GenPM is in public beta and free of charge.

1. What GenPM does

GenPM is a registry that indexes manifests of packages hosted in public Git repositories and helps you copy their code, their rules for AI agents and their MCP configuration into your project. The registry stores metadata only; code is downloaded directly from the Git repository, pinned to a specific commit.

2. Account

  • You sign in with your GitHub account. You must be at least 14.
  • You are responsible for the activity of your account and your API tokens. Keep them secret and revoke them if they leak.
  • You can close your account at any time by writing to yohangelr@gmail.com; the consequences for your packages are explained in the Privacy Policy.

3. Publishing packages

When you publish a package:

  • You declare that you have the right to distribute its code under the stated license and that it complies with the Package Policy and the law.
  • You grant GenPM a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, index, display and distribute the package metadata, its README and its AI rules, as needed to provide the service. The code remains governed by the package license.
  • You accept that published versions are immutable: you can withdraw (yank) them, but they are not deleted from the index, so projects already using them stay verifiable.

4. Using packages

Packages are published by third parties. GenPM verifies their integrity, scans them automatically and never runs their code, but cannot guarantee they are free of bugs or malicious code. Review what you install: the code becomes part of your project. Its use is governed by each package's license.

5. Acceptable use

You may not: use GenPM for unlawful activities; publish malware or content infringing third-party rights; impersonate other people, brands or publishers; squat names to resell or block them; scrape the API beyond the rate limits; or attack or overload the service.

6. Content moderation

To protect people who install packages, GenPM applies the Package Policy, which is part of these terms and describes, as article 14 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act) requires, what content is not allowed, how it is detected (automatic scanning and human review), the possible measures (review, withdrawal of versions, account suspension) and how to appeal them. When we take a measure on your content or account, we will explain the reasons.

7. Availability and changes to the service

GenPM is provided as is, in beta and free of charge. We may modify, limit or interrupt features to improve the service or for security reasons; if it materially affects publishers, we will give reasonable notice.

8. Liability

GenPM is not liable for damage caused by code in packages published by third parties, by misuse of the service or by interruptions beyond its control. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for personal injury, or the rights granted to you by consumer protection law (Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007).

9. Suspension and closure

We may suspend or close an account that seriously breaches these terms or the Package Policy, stating the reasons and with the possibility to appeal. You can close your account at any time.

10. Changes to these terms

We will announce material changes on genpm.net and, if you have an account, by email, at least 30 days before they take effect. If you disagree, you can close your account before that date.

11. Language, governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are offered in several languages; in case of discrepancy the Spanish version prevails. They are governed by Spanish law. If you act as a consumer, the courts of your domicile have jurisdiction; otherwise, the courts of Madrid. Before going to court, write to yohangelr@gmail.com: we will try to settle it amicably.
